Remodeling Update: Phase 1 Completed!
11/4/2016 - The first of five phases of Primary Care Associates of Appleton's remodeling project is complete! Read more to learn what changes have been made so far, and what's expected for phase 2.
Primary Care Associates of Appleton will be finishing Phase 1 of our 5-phase building remodel project as of Sunday, November 6th, which consists of the following changes:
• Remodeling of 3 office space areas, and moving of schedulers, switchboard and our mail area into the newly occupied space that was formerly occupied by Orthopedic Medicine and Spine Therapy (the northwestern section of our building).
• We've set up five temporary desks in this newly occupied space for our receptionists for use as of Monday, November 7th.
• Relocation of our current main entrance to the northwest side of the building for our patients & visitors has also been prepared and is ready for patient flow to begin as of Monday, November 7th (
see additional information below
).
Starting on Monday, November 7th, all patients will enter Primary Care Associates of Appleton via the “temporary entrance”. The temporary entrance is located on the northwest side of the building.
A “Temporary Entrance” banner will be place above this entrance area, in addition to signage in the parking lot from both directions of the parking lot entrances. Please be aware that both areas of our handicap/restricted parking areas will be temporarily moved. The handicap/restricted parking stalls on the west side of the building (closest to new temporary entrance) will be transitioned to a drop off/pick-up area to accommodate the daily high demand. Handicap/restricted parking stalls on the south side of the building will be too far for our patients to travel in comparison to the temporary entrance location and in conjunction with the outside work beginning to remodel the front entrance. The temporary handicap/restricted parking stalls will be designated with signage in the 2 rows of parking closest to the temporary entrance. The temporary entrance will be in use for approximately 10 weeks as we transition into Phase 2 of the remodel.
As patients enter through the temporary entrance, please take an immediate right turn into the current wide-open space where the receptionists will be located and checking-in patients. Once checked-in, patients will be directed down the longer corridor to the corner between the West and North waiting areas. Signage will be abundant; located on all corners, as well as waiting areas and more. (See video below for a visual view of the new temporary entrance and patient flow - turn on closed captioning for additional details.)
Please note: As of Monday, November 7th, the front of the building and area around the front desk will be shut off completely to patients. Access to the Lab/Radiology waiting area, 2nd Floor and the women's restroom will still be available; men’s restroom access will be via the South waiting area. (Patients will also have access to 2 restrooms near the PSR’s upon entering/exiting the clinic.) With this area being shut off around the front desk, traffic flow to East (Blue) and South (Brown) waiting areas will be via the North (Purple) waiting area and around accordingly. To clarify, patients going to or coming from the South (Brown) or East (Blue) waiting areas will not be able to walk past our main entrance/front desk to get to the temporary entrance/exit or Ancillary waiting areas. They will need to travel through the North (Purple) waiting area.
Phase 2 (approximately 10 weeks)…Begins as of Monday, November 7th
This will phase will consist of the following:
• Main entrance doors and area around front desk will be closed off for patient access.
• The front entrance/vestibule of the building will be extended out 10 feet.
• Entrance doors will be located on both sides of the vestibule to help eliminate outside air flow directly into front area.
• Removal of Front Desk, Scheduling and Switchboard areas.
• Reconstruction of Front Desk into 6 workstations, including positioning of desk back farther from main entrance doors.
As always, any staff member will be readily available to assist our patients, guests, and visitors with navigating through the buildling. We thank you for your patience and understanding during our construction project and apologize in advance for any incoveniences.
