13 Feb PCAA Physician Announces Retirement Plans

Internal Medicine physician, Dr. Stephen Dernlan, to retire June 2023.

In a letter mailed to his patients beginning February 13, 2023, Dr. Dernlan made the announcement that he will be retiring from practice in June 2023. Dr. Dernlan has been with Primary Care Associates of Appleton since October, 2006, and has been practicing medicine since 1989. We wish Dr. Dernlan all the best in this next phase of life! 

Dear Patients and Friends,

The Book of Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is a time for everything and a season for every activity. I am writing to you today to announce that after practicing here in Appleton for almost 34 years, I will be retiring on June 1, 2023. In my next season of life, I look forward to spending more time with family and friends, especially my granddaughters in Nashville!

I am honored that you have trusted me with your healthcare over these many years; it has been a privilege to be a part of your lives. We have walked through many changes and challenges together. I have truly enjoyed being an Internal Medicine physician, connecting with you as friends and partners in the journey of staying healthy while we all get a little older!

In the near future, you will need to choose a new primary care physician. Corey Macrander, M.D., Internal Medicine physician, has the most availability and would welcome the opportunity to transition your care into his practice.
