3D Mammography
Early detection is the best defense against breast cancer. Mammography is performed to screen healthy women for signs of breast cancer. It is also used to follow up on findings from screenings or to evaluate a patient who has symptoms of a breast disease, such as a lump, nipple discharge, breast pain, dimpling of the skin on the breast, or retraction of the nipple. Mammograms are the best way to detect breast cancer early.
Primary Care Associates of Appleton is proud to offer the addition of the GeniusTM 3D MAMMOGRAPHYTM with Clarity HD to our suite of imaging solutions. Until now, the best way to find breast cancer in its earliest stages has been with digital mammography. But a new, clinically proven, advanced breast imaging tool - digital breast tomosynthesis, also known as 3D mammography - improves early detection of breast cancer and other abnormalities. A 3D mammogram allows the radiologist to see breast tissue in a way never before possible; fine details are more clearly visible, no longer hidden by the tissue above and below. COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to continued research, the Society of Breast Imaging has recommended for patients that have had or plan to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, if possible, and when it does not unduly delay care, consider scheduling screening exams prior to the 1st dose or the booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccination or 6-8 weeks following the second dose or the booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccination. The Mammography Department at Primary Care Associates of Appleton is accredited by the American College of Radiology. All mammograms at PCAA are read by a licensed Radiologist on-site. We offer convenient mammography hours to accommodate your busy schedule, including Saturday appointments! Call (920) 996-1060 to schedule today!
